I got a couple of cans of this (I think!) at The Beer Store Nashua.... quaffing now while laxing out in The 'Zebo...
It's a dense, dark, opaque brown brew.... Has a fine but thin, creamy tan head, with light lacing. Aroma has choco and coffee, with some floral hopping mixed in. It's rather smooth, with a medium to medium-plus body.
Taste has really nice dark malt action. Dark choco, coffee, roasted notes... nice! Also has some molasses and dark fruit characteristics. The finish is somewhat earthy with a decent helping of florality. Solid! Cheers!!

No can date, and I'm excited to try RIS from Schilling.
Pours a dark tan foamy frothy 1 finger head with moderate retention, fair lacing, very dark almost black with a touch of mahogany light
Nose brings lots of great aromas, roast and a touch of char up front, layers of chocolate, cocoa, dark chocolate, some choc cereal, touch of caramel and sweet malt, milk chocolate notes, as well as some malt-derived dark fruit notes, a hint of cherry and fig, smooth alcohol, light backing spices and a touch of vanilla spice
Taste brings brings more roast and a bit of char up front, not acrid though, lots of dark chocolate, cocoa, a little fudge and milk chocolate, creamy oats, a bit more cereal and chocolate cereal, a touch of smooth alcohol tingle, with some baking spices and little vanilla spice, hops bring some spicy flavor and med bitterness, a bit of roasty malt bitterness, hops kick up quite a bit maybe a bit more than it should, a touch of dark fruits somewhere but overpowered by the hops, drier finish, a touch of alcohol, lingering bitterness
Mouth is fuller bod, a bit rich almost chewy like, med foamy carb, light warming alcohol
Overall pretty solid, the hops get a little overpowering and unpleasant, but otherwise it's a very nice RIS. I think a bit of age will do nicely with this, between mellowing the hops and smoothing teh alcohol a bit more, so I might buy a 4-pack to cellar away

Poured from a 32 oz crowler into a tulip glass.
Pours a near pitch black color with 2 fingers of fluffy caramel head. The lacing is just stupid, nearly coating the entire top of the glass before the head settles into a thick blanket of foam resting gently atop the beer.
The aroma brings notes of dark roasted malts, fresh roasted coffee beans, and dark chocolate. As the beer warms, notes of tar and plums come out of hiding, as well as the faintest idea of bread and caramel.
The taste is exploding with bitter, dark roast coffee, followed by waves of dark chocolate, caramel, tobacco, and dark fruits. Dark everything. Finishes with a nice kiss of hops after the dark malt palate assault.
The feel is medium full-bodied with soft carbonation. Very dry, creamy, and smooth. Alcohol is well hidden.
Overall, this is a fantastic RIS that will absolutely put hair on your chest. Very roasted with strong malt flavors and just enough hops to keep any sweet flavors in check. Definitely worth seeking out.

On tap at Cask and Vine.
In a snifter the beer was black with a small tan head.
Intense coffee aroma, some chocolate.
Intense coffee taste. Imagine your strongest espresso. Chocolate in the background.
This is the RIS for coffee loveers!

On tap at Cask and Vine,
Rich maltiness with lots of caramel and chocolate. Light dried fruits. Restrained hop presence. Very nice imperial stout, liking the brewery a lot!
