Alewife and I visited Schilling on 21MAy20... I had a 12oz pour of this between 2 pours of Kamarade. Set me back $9.00....
Small snifter held an oily, jet black, opaque liquid. Had a fine, beige head; was thin, leaving a light layer on the brew, with excellent lacing. Nose had rich, dark choco, along with rum and dark fruit. Felt way smooth on the tongue, with a great medium-plus body.
Flavor? More choco and then choco! Had some subtle rum action, plus figs, dates and prunes, with a smidge of bourbon. Finish is dry, with minimal hopping evident. Quite tasty!! Prosit!!!

Pitch black pour with a thin, caramel colored head. The aroma is chocolate and whiskey. Oak, and malt, but always chocolate at center stage.
Super malt forward. The hops is there in the center palate if you’re searching for it, but this is a beer even non-beer drinkers should try. Imagine biting into dark chocolate and then sipping a tawny port wine.
The mouthfeel is silky. Can get a little syrupy when warm, but delightful chilled. Stick to the twelve ounce pour.
This beer is so good it inspired me to write my first review.
If you’re ever in New England, this brewery is worth the trip!

What an amazing beer. Rich and malty, boozy finish. I think it's aged in Dye barrels. There is a spicy bite to it that really balances the sweet malt. So well balanced and complex.

Sample at the Granite State Brewers Festival.
Solid black color with a thin tan head. Vanilla and brown sugary bourbon atop a roasty earthy chocolatey stout. I would have loved to sit down with a full glass of this wonderful beer.

Holy crap Batman!!! Damned great RIP and I am lucky to have the aged version just by chance here at the brewery. Heck, my wife who doesn't like beer, even liked this. Complex in a great way, not quite pitch black pour. Freekin good.
