On tap at McGillicuddy's, Williston, Vermont.
Despite being poured into a pint glass, I got what was going on and was extremely pleased.
Here's my observations.
The appearance was a glossy bright bronzed yellow color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Some slim legs of lace slid in and around the glass.
The aroma had a wonderful blend of sweet danky onion with a clean pungent lupulin powder-like character that ended up playing with a little bit of white pepper.
The flavor seemed to balance all of the prior mentioned aromas to blend extremely nice between the various levels of sweetness (danky to smooth velvety with a touch of grassy dryness). For a double dry hopped beer, the aftertaste is quite refined with the danky onion sweetness flowing smoothly across some light fruity esters.
The mouthfeel was not as expected as the "dryness" of the double dry hopping flowing exceptionally nice in a super smooth to danky wet manner across my tongue. I'd say this was about medium bodied with a fine sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good, somewhat low. ABV felt about as projected by the brewer.
Overall, what a damn fine beer. I can see it as a Belgian pale ale and I'd love to have again.
