A delicate iteration of Westphalian copper ale, hopped with NZ Motueka for beautifully subtle notes of kaffir lime and firm bitterness counterpoised with toasted malt character. Carefully crafted for high drinkability.

From the can, it pours a hazy opaque brown with a modest just off-white head that reduces to a thin layer and leaves lacing. In the nose, it is slightly sweet toasted malt. In the mouth, it is the same. Not quite enough bitter for a alt, but enjoyable.

Can. Dark amber with lasting eggshell head. Light herbal minerally aroma with a hint of fruit and caramel. Medium-heavy caramel brown sugar cereal sweetness with medium herbal minerally finish. Light body fairly soft with medium carbo. Very good and authentic feeling.

Canned 12/27/19
Pours an off-white med fizzy foamy frothy head with med retention, fair lacing, quite hazy tan-orange-copper color
Nose is nice, some sweet toasted malt, reddish-brown malt with some sweetness, hint of caramel/toffee sweetness, a little biscuity copper malt, fair hops, fruity floral hops, a little grassy floral noble hop, fresh fruity as well
Taste brings more sweet malts, but not actually sweet, an interesting herbal tea and floral grassy hops, light bitterness increasing to med bitterness as it goes, copper sweet toasted malts, a touch biscuity as well, and a little toffee note, more fruity flavors but not a lot, drier finish with soft and crisp lager notes, med bitterness with more herbal tea hops
Mouth is med to a bit lighter bod, soft lager, crisp, med fizzy carb
Overall nice alt-bier, lighter easier drinking that typical alt-biers from Germany, but nice malt and hop profile combinations, I do like an alt-bier but the German ones can get a little heavy for light spring/summer sipping, but this goes well
