A limited edition golden Helles lager that blends two authentic heirloom yeast strains from Weihenstephan (DE) & Hürlimann (CH). Independently fermented on a singular wort and combined post-fermentation to end bright, soft, and tangy with rounded flavors and aromas.

Impressive tight frothy head (two fingers). Slow to settle. Lighter gold color. Clear. Webby lace.
Grainy pale malt aroma. Very true smell to the Munich cousins.
Both full bodied and crisp. Light toasted malt taste. The hop is present as balance and spice. Smooth drinking, very good for a hot day but not a lawnmower beer.

A: The beer is crystal clear yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of noble hops are present in the nose - spiciness stands out in particular.
T: The taste has flavors of spicy hops along with underlying notes of bready and grainy hops. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied and very clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This Helles Lager was very clean on the mouthfeel and easy to drink. I enjoyed the contrast between the hops and malts in the taste.
Serving type: can

Canned 3/3/20
Pours a large frothy 1+ finger head with moderate retention, nice soapy lacing, brilliantly clear golden pilsner color
nose grain sweet malts although a bit muted, cracked grain, little dough, light floral hops, touch of honey, no DMS/corn
Taste brings more grainy-sweet malt, doughy cracked grain, med to a bit lighter bitterness with floral slight spicy hops, getting a touch grassy, soft lager and clean and crisp, hint of sulfate and minerals, no DMS/corn or other typical Helles characters, crisp dry finish, grassy floral slight spicy hops lingering, med cridp bitterness
Mouth is med to lighter bod, soft crisp lager, med carb
Overall not bad, decent Helles notes but sort of blended with German pilsner in a way, still well lagered and enjoyable

Can to lager glass.
The appearance was a beautiful golden yellow color topped by a small cap of a white foamy head sliding off nicely to leave one ring of lace near the top while it spider webbed fashionably.
The aroma had some semi-sweet biscuity malts flowing into a subtle peppery to grassy hop blend. Ever so slight whiff of floral hops gathering subtle momentum to build for the balance.
The flavor yields to the sweet side initially but had brought in a semi-dry yeasty to grassy and peppery nipping while allowing a mild aftertaste of biscuits, dry yeastiness, grassiness and floral hops.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a superb sessionability about it. Good carbonation. Finishes semi-crisp with a floral to grassy hop dryness, some smoothness.
Overall, I'd say a pretty nicely done lager, whether it's a Helles lager or some sort pilsner, it's one fascinating enough to come back to.
