This one pours a pretty creamy looking black color, with a big fluffy head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like roasted malt, smoke, oak, tobacco, lightly herbal hop character, etc.

This is absolutely fantastic. The oak character really smooths this one out, giving a nice creamy oaky taste, adding some pleasant spice. There's tobacco, dark roast, and chocolate, too, with a very light hop character.

This is creamy, and much richer than the ABV would suggest, with a great drinkability.

I pretty much want to try any and all oak lagers, and of course Schilling nails it.

From a 16oz can, dated 06/08/21. Served in a very cool Schilling-branded stemmed pilsner glass. The glassware gets a solid ‘5.’

Pours cola colored black-brown with two-plus fingers of super-soft mocha foam. Retention is excellent, leaving a pouffy cap and a tattered curtain of lacing. Some visible carbonation but otherwise opaque in the glass.

Aroma is mildly sweet. First impression is of warm, cocoa and nuts but there’s a cold, sharp, biting charred note following that.

Taste is drier and roastier than expected from the nose. Cocoa dusted toffee almonds. Tasting charred wood and medicinal herbs, then a big, pronounced, fizzy Dr. Pepper character to finish up.

Feel is clean and quenching, drying, lighter bodied with brisk, fizzy carbonation.

Overall, an enjoyable, light bodied schwarzbier. FWIW I enjoyed it ten times better on draft at the brewery, hanging out on the deck over the river on a warm, sunny day than I did the cans I brought home - but I never know whether that says more about the beer or about me.
