16 oz can
Pours a chill-hazed pale gold color with a sudsy eggshell head. Moderate retention. Leaves plenty of cobweb lacing.
Grassy aroma with plenty of spicy noble hops.
Taste has tons of toasted crackery malt, hay, and an exceptional noble hop presence.
Medium bodied with good carbonation. Finishes surprisingly dry with a lingering hop bitterness.
Overall this is definitely a good pilsner, but it’s a tad aggressively hopped for the style. I love that personally, but it’s closer to Jacobus than Alexandr so if you prefer Czech lagers you might not be a fan of this one.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance - The beer pours a clear golden color with a small head of white foam. The head fades fast leaving a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell - The aroma is mostly of a grainy and bready smell mixed with a touch of herb and a bit of caramel.
Taste - The taste begins with a grain and bread malt mixed with a touch of herb. There is also some caramel and grass. As the taste advances the caramel and herb fade a bit, leaving one with a mild grainy taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel - The body is medium in thickness and creaminess while the carbonation is lower. A bit higher carbonation would have been better, but overall OK.
Overall - A decent Pils overall. Nothing too special but overall decent drinking.

Not bad, I liked this anniversary edition better than Schilling's regular Alexander.
The color is a bit on a pale yellow side (more like a typical German Pils) vs a more traditional Czech pale lagers' signature golden color. The brew actually does look unfiltered unlike Schilling's allegedly unfiltered Lena.
The aroma is quite mild, but the taste is a lot more pronounced on the crackery noble-hoppy side. Again, this Alexandr tastes more like a German Pils rather than a Czech Pilsner.
Worth a try.
