Saison De Banc Vert - Cranberry

another winner from green bench, and another fine variation on this great saison. this one is soft hazy deep pink with a short but lasting white head and a mouthwatering aroma of tangy fresh cranberries, funky brett, and richer wheat malt, all the elements are there. the fruit is as forward as i have seen cranberry in beer, and as authentic too, the sourness of the berries runs right into the natural tanginess of the beer, seamless. lots of funk too, but this is super dry and clean at the same time, well refined, and insanely drinkable. the fruit is very forward, but not so intense and dominate that it takes over the grain, i do get the fresh cerealy wheat in here, as well as the body i am giving it credit for adding. this almost has an oak matured funk to it, more than just the brett spike it seems, more of a slower process, very complex there, and really well done. creamy almost in the feel, with good carbonation. green bench has become one of my favorites, i wish we got more of their stuff out to colorado. this was excellent, and a beautiful integration of fresh cranberry into quality wild saison!
