Poured from 16.9 oz bottle into tulip. 4.2% ABV.
A: Pours a very clear yellow-orange with thin fizzy white head that quickly dissipates.
S: Citrus, hint of funky yeast, white grape, and a hint of white pepper.
T: Tart kumquat, white wine, sour lemon, white pepper, hints of melon and honey. A hint of brett funk too.
M: Light body and oily feel. Sour, tart, and a hint of citrus sweetness. Quite dry. Moderately bitter throughout. Lingers nicely on the palate.
D: I picked this up about 6 months ago from the brewery and it already seems past peak. Nice refreshing sour wild ale. Drink these immediately!

Hazy apricot-orange with an essentially headless, still surface after it settles.
Smell is fresh, ripe fruit. It's a full on orchard that brings apple, pear, kumquat and hints grass and cheesy barnyard funk.
Taste is sharply sour, nearing acetic, of orange, kumquat, spiced toasty oak, and apricot.
A chewy swallow is led by a thin body with a mild but soft and disappearing fizz. This one's chalk dry, but I do like it the more I drink it. At first I thought it would be too sour, but somehow my palate acclimates, or else the beer mellows out as it warms.

in collaboration with side project, using their yeast culture as well as their own, very cool brew, a grainy table saison with kumquats, i think there is an edition without the fruit too, but i really like the zesty fresh citrus and bitter and piquant elements the kumquats contribute to it. a little haze to this bright golden orange brew, tall white head rising up and staying up. it smells more sour than some of the other green bench wild types, but has a familiar brett maturity, must be taking on a little more acidity from the side project half of the yeasts. lemon pucker and orange juice, i get the kumquats in nose and taste for sure, and im not sure this beer would be complete without them. some grilled pineapple flavor in here too, maybe some rye malt, and a nice starchy wheaty oaty earthy cereal complexion at its base. good funk, strong white wine and oak, and the bitterness of the fruit at the end. a little sharp, but pleasantly funky and complex too, with excellent carbonation and a rustic vibe overall. i thought this was exceptional, two amazing brewers of this kind of thing getting together is always cool too. interesting and delicious!
