This was a terrible saison. As soon as the can is opened, it reeks of nothing but hops. As soon as you sip it, it tastes of nothing but hops. It goes down smooth enough, but will leave you wondering why it was decided to call this a saison as it will leave a lingering hoppy taste in your mouth. There are countless ridiculous names out there for IPAs, and saison is not one of them. This was an immeasurable disappointment.

another really tasty beer in here, it seems like the saison types are what they do best, and i really like this yeast culture they use for this one (and others), its funky and rustic but not overpowering, and it lets some of the added ingredients shine in the beers they use it for, in this case, hops, and lots of them. to me its mosaic, tropical and juicy with strong suggestions of orange and pineapple, fresh and leafy vegetal too, heavily dry hopped in the juice bomb sense, there may be a number of varietals at work. its cloudy and sort of thick looking, a commonality across a lot of the beers of this type here. orange in hue and frothy from the tap. some light funk and belgian fruitiness up front, the hops all later on, highly aromatic but still just as flavorful, new school, bright, and summery. its almost too hopped up to appreciate any grain nuance, but i dont really miss it, and there is enough body that is still feels beery despite its overly juicy complexion. strong orange notes to finish, less carbonation than would be ideal, and a drying tendency from the yeast. cool beer, easy drinking, well made. im into this type of saison right now.
