Canned 05/30/18
Appearance - Pours hazy and golden orange in color with an off-white, rocky one-finger width head. Good retention, resulting in a thin, broken layer of suds and a thin ring around the edge of the glass.
Smell - Fair notes of chocolate and strawberry and vanilla on the nose with a hint of earth.
Taste - A little weaker on the 'neo' than expected, but still solid. Faint notes of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla upfront that linger into mid-taste, but then some earthy and slightly floral hops take the lead. Hops fade in the finish, leaving lingering but ghostly traces of the chocolate and strawberry.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair, bubbly carbonation.
Overall - Good concept, and the flavors are there, but the intensity is lacking. This could be a monster with a few tweaks to liven up the chocolate, strawberry and vanilla notes.
