You’ve heard of an oyster stout, but what about an oyster Extra Special Bitter? Seattle’s Cloudburst and Holy Mountain Brewing Companies came down and brought some amazing oysters with them from Hama Hama and Baywater. After slurping down numerous oysters we took the shells and added them to the boil of this beer to extract some nice minerality. We also brewed Extra Special Bivalve with English Maris Otter malt and hopped it generously with classic English East Kent Golding hops.

On nitro tap at Cellarmaker Berkeley
A: Pours cascading golden amber with a creamy cream white head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.
S: Floral, stone fruit, slight minerality, toasty bready malt, light grassy herbal notes, and faint yeastiness.
T: Toasty bready malt, floral notes, stone fruit, plum and apricot, light minerality, and slight grassy herbal tones.
M: Light to medium body, mild carbonation as expected.
O: Really nice easy drinker with a cool story. I'm all about British beers like this being more common.
