In the stillness of the cellar, three separate journeys unfolded beneath the watch of oak and time. One Barleywine spent 19 months in Heaven Hill Select Stock Bourbon, drawing out deep caramel and vanilla. A Munichwine rested 15 months in Savage & Cooke Rye, where spice and warmth gathered. And another Barleywine lingered 26 months in Russell's Reserve 16 Year Bourbon, steeping in toffee, dried fruit, and leather.
When their paths finally converged, they formed Stargazer - a bourbon barrel-aged Barleywine that shines with layered richness, woven together like a constellation. At 14.6% ABV, it invites you to look upward, linger in its depth, and lose yourself among the stars.

Pours dark brown. Aroma is a bit subdued. Nice combination of bourbon, toffee, and some dried fruit. Taste follows nose but more intense and more flavor -- bourbon, toffee, caramel, vanilla, oak and burnt brown sugar. Medium mouthfeel, bordering on full.

My second Cellarmaker barleywine, once again arriving in a 375ML bottle. The first one was soooo good. Expectations scraping the ceiling.
The pour is black, perhaps the darkest barleywine I can recall, with only a fizzy lid that collapses rapidly. Surprisingly mild nose. A little bourbon, brown leather belt.
Stargazer kicks hard; no disguising that double-digit ABV. Three long sips tells me a story about bourbon, barrels, & spicy rye. The lack of adjuncts & a seemingly light hand with flavor-bearing malts leaves a clean slate for the barrels to scribble on & that's about all there is. Light for 14.6% which makes is dangerously drinkable.
Easy, simple, straightforward. Good, solid beer.

Pours a dark chestnut brown to the Willi Becher. One finger of dense but lively creamy coffee colored head. Not much aroma, something in the leather category maybe. First sips are heavy. Big mouthfeel with a lot of earthiness from the Heaven Hill up front, which I’m in a phase of not really liking. Followed by a brighter spicy rye to balance out the heavy front. Finishes with a gentler sweet bourbon note on top of all the big caramel and darker malt base. 14.6% ABV fighting in its weight class from the start. Very enjoyable. Received as part of a trade with @westcoastbeerlvr . Glad to have tried it.

Sweet caramel and toffee malty, brown bread sprinkled with brown sugar, vanilla and oak, and a hint of rye-spicy, bourbon barrel nose on this one! Taste follows exactly with a medium-bodied, yet full and soft, classic bourbon barrel bwizzle finish. This is well done! It just finishes a little thin and a little short on the backend.
