The‎ honey hibiscus sour collaboration was brewed with Black Cat Brewery of Moscow, Russia. Ruby red, slightly sour-tart with hints of honey, citrus, & plum. The rare wine-like beer has 7lbs. of honey and 3lbs. of hibiscus per barrel. Alegria is perfect for a hot summer day!

This brew is exactly what I had hoped it would be. I was going to say "as expected" but "as I hoped" is more positive and captures the sentiment that I had high hopes and they were met.

It pours ruby red with a little fine fizz. The aroma is out of this world fruity yeast fermented fun. It doesn't taste very boozy, maybe more as it warms. I know it is boozyish. Fruit are all over, and a very pleasant tartness is strong throughout the experience. This stuff seems like it should do the system good.

Highly recommended. A great sour.

I tried this at the brewery; it was part of a Valentine's Day Chocolate and Beer Pairing. This beer was paired with a salted caramel dark chocolate. It poured a red pinot noir red with no head that left no lace. The scent has hints of potpourri and floral base with sweet sour notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with subtle sweet honey base and subtle sour highlights. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a decent beer.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours fairly hazy pinkish orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tart/sour cranberry, strawberry, hibiscus, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, plum, pear, apricot, red/green apple, red/white wine, hay, straw, floral, grass, honey, wheat, and biscuit dough; with light pepper, lacto/musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, hibiscus, honey, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart/sour cranberry, strawberry, hibiscus, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, plum, pear, apricot, red/green apple, red/white wine, hay, straw, floral, grass, honey, wheat, and biscuit dough; with light pepper, lacto/musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness; light hibiscus tang, and yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of cranberry, strawberry, hibiscus, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, plum, pear, apricot, red/green apple, red/white wine, hay, straw, floral, grass, honey, wheat, biscuit dough, light pepper/funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, hibiscus, honey, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/sourness and tangy hibiscus balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tart/sourness and tangy hibiscus. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, fairly acidic, and lightly tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mildly increasing warmth of 8.5% after the finish. Overall this is an excellent spiced sour! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, hibiscus, honey, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV with the mellowly acidic/tangy/tannic/drying finish. Not overly lactic. Really awesome balance of hibiscus and Brett/Lacto complexity; with a great honey and pale/wheat malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Feels pretty jammy too, even though there is no fruit at all! A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

12 FL OZ can
Served in a sour glass

This beer pours amber with a slight haze. It has burnt orange highlights. It is topped with a couple inches of tan head that leaves no lacing.

The smell is hibiscus and spiced pear. I also get some tartness.

The taste is hibiscus right off the bat. The tartness bordering on sour compliments it nicely. It get spiced pear in the finish.

Medium mouthfeel

This beer comes across like a hibiscus Belgian strong pale ale that has been soured. It is pretty tasty and refreshing given its abv.

From a 12oz can with no date, but it is a recent release

It is a Kool Aid to cranberry jucie red. Looks like a foggy blush wine. It has a soapy off white head that is a bit fizzy and disappers pretty quick.

It smells a little sour, with grape juice/plum combined with cranberry juice and alcohol.

Fairly lemon like sour up front with cranberry, a more sour dark fruit, like raspberry or blackberry, a honeycomb sweetness, and some wine like booze.

It has some lively yeast and carbonation, and it has a decent amount of body. Almost a Gose like wheat feel.

Dial the alcohol back in this and it would not only be a great refreshing summer beer, but taste a lot better too. A wine person would probably dig this one.
