For a brown ale the body is dark, almost entering "black" territory but more of really dark brown with one finger head and lace.
Smells and tastes more of a roasted coffee edge then four different kinds of hops (part of the name).
There really isn't any hoppy flavors like citric, grape, earthiness, bitterness, but more of a dry beer that lends itself, being a brown ale after all, to being described as roasted malts/hint of coffee and even bitter chocolate, although this last part is a stretch since there's not much sweetness.
Thick, a little sticky at times, has that touch of sweetness but mostly a dry beer that has a dry finish that could be described as a hop bite but also more of a dry malt sensation.
Overall, pretty decent brown ale that is less sweet than I like them but it packs a punch and worth trying.
