Best by Jan 2010 notched on label of 33cl bottle. Opened at room temp (60F) to a huge gusher. Got about 20cl in my tulip, head immediately dies to a thin ring around glass. Dark brown liquid.
Smells herbal, medicinal. Notes of licorice, concord grape juice, alfalfa. Kind of reminds me of Jägermeister.
Medicinal taste as well, almost sickly sweet. There are many herbal and other strange flavors for beer in here - I can't describe them accurately. Maybe oak, raisin, green tea, cherry cough syrup. In any case, it's an unusual cocktail.
Sticky and cloying mouthfeel. Alcohol noticeable in aftertaste.
Not particularly drinkable, save perhaps for herbal beer fanatics.

Beer bottle (33 cl.), tasted in 2007.
Appearance : brown/red color, with littel tan foam head (which disappears very quickly).
Smell : caramel and alcohol aromas.
Taste and mouthfeel : very sweet, fruity and caramel flavours, alcohol presence.
Drinkability : a good beer in the style Belgian strong dark ale ?
