Tap @ Small Bar, Bristol - Pours dark red with a small tanned foamy head. Medium carbonation. Nice lacing. Aroma - dark stone fruits - cherry, roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate notes. Taste - Sweet, dark stoned fruits - cherry, light whisky feel, roasted malts, coffee/chocolate, hint of tartness, nice bitter finish. Solid.

Stout on cherries and Bordeaux barrel aged. On tap at Hippo Taproom in Glasgow. Pours near black with a ruby hue when held to the light. Small head that dissipates with almost no lace. Nose is sour cherry/raspberry with just a hint of dark chocolate in the background...a bit like one of those chocolate covered cherry candies. Taste leans more towards the wine barrels. A bit reminiscent of Rodenbach beers. Somewhat vinous but lacking in the stout department, as if the base beer just doesn't have what it takes to go through the treatment. Interesting, but lacking.
