330 ml bottle, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.1%. Black colour, huge tan head. Aroma of roast malts, grain, coffee and dark chocolate. Fizzy and thin mouthfeel. Roasty and medium dry flavour with the same elements as the aroma. Not impressed.

330ml bottle.
L: Very dark brown, almost black. Lots of visible carbonation. A slightly aggressive pour produces a massive, 3-finger, mocha coloured, foaming head and spotty lacing.
S: Milk chocolate aroma.
T: Chocolate & caramel flavours are very light. Some bitterness
F: Too highly carbonated for me. Smooth & dry but also gassy.
O: Fantastic quality water produces a lovely smoothness but ultimately there’s a lack of complexity or substance. Very light, too gassy, a bit boring.

Schooner at Six°North, Glasgow (£3.20):
Quite a disappointing beer if I'm honest, it opened well with some pleasant smoky flavours & plenty of roasted malts but it was basic at times & seemed one-dimensional. There was some faint sweetness further on with some cocoa & then coffee towards the end but I'd have liked to see a little more of these throughout. It wasn't a particularly bad beer but it just didn't do enough to keep me interested sadly & as such I doubt I'd order it again.
