The Forces Unseen series highlights our passion for experimenting with new and different microbes to create various flavor profiles. This new iteration of Forces Unseen blends 5 different golden sours together to create a nuanced and complex golden sour beer. Undiscovered until mixed together, the assorted yeast and bacteria used in this blend reveal notes of lemon zest, dry cider, & candied lemon.

Is it me or does Rare Barrel just seem to have essentially two beers? Golden sour base, and dark sour base. Then they just change a few things to those two, and voila! Here are 75 different beers!
This one (shock, gasp) pours golden, thin 1/3" white head. Lactic sour nose with lemons in the aroma, taste and mouthfeel. Finishes dry. Saliva inducing. Even though it is a blend of like 5 beers, it seems rather simplistic. No funk, clean, lemon sours, golden base. Plenty of acidity. Maybe some ginger.
As usual for Rare Barrel, its a good beer. As usual as well, it doesn't have much to distinguish it from a lot of their beers.

I found this much more tropical than the other reviewers. A touch warmer the acidity mellows and it's juicy tropicana with a good deal of grainy flair that reminds you it's beer. A touch watery in a pleasant way that enhances drinkability. Only flaw is appearance IMHO.

Poured from the new Ambassadors growler into matching stemware.
A: Clear golden in color with a short-lived white head that faded into a fuzzy collar.
S: Bright notes of clean lactic tartness over a mix of cracked grains and bready yeast. Light and tart nose, like a crisp blonde ale with lacto. Slight lemon.
T: Grainy notes like the nose with just a kiss of golden fruit or apple juice sweetness near the finish. Almost lager-like in flavor, but without the lager yeast. Very slight stone fruit. Finish is drying with a touch of lemon citrus and gritty tannins.
M: Medium-light body, crisp mouthfeel, bright tartness, clear acidity, full tingly carbonation.
O: A very mellow flavored and light tasting sour. Acidity is bright and tart but more well-rounded and less acidic than the last couple batches. Lighter in flavor than I remember, but I’m loving the smoother mouthfeel.
