This was my last beer of Saison Day. Pours a yellow with some obscuring color brought on by the rose hips and petals likely that bring it to a dull gold. Small 1/4" white head. Aroma was definitely floral, you read that descriptor on hops, but a lot of the time it doesn't resonate for me. On this occasion, floral was very much on point, it really has that floral shop, stop and smell the roses kind of vibe, with a fallback of tartness behind it.
Taste drops a little more complexity than just the rose additions, there is a mild honey like counterbalancing sweetness that sits mostly under the radar, but helps with mouth feel and crushability. There's some of the lemon tartness and orange/tangerine sweetness and mild citrus. Acidity is well restrained.
Everything rare barrel is expensive, but nonetheless, man it would be nice to dream of a world where you can pick a 4 pack of this up for $20. Would bang all summer. Hopefully still gonna be bangin' Rosie all summer, but that's another story.
