Faintly berry tinged golden amber brew is quite attractive. Swirls of foam and lacing in the Ciney snifter. This has the wheaty, cereal taste of a lot of Saisons. I don't really taste either raspberries or cocoa, so I'd call it smooth and subtle with a rich but indefinable flavor. Maybe a touch of dry peach. Aromtic like yeasty cranberry bread. Quite drinkable and interesting.
This reminds me of Frambozen Raspberry Brown from New Belgium. That's not a tart beer either, and some people taste cocoa in it as well as this one. I like this malty fruity taste even if it doesn't fit into a category. The Belgian yeast seems to add a little dry sensation to the finish but not much flavor. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham.

Laundry detergent. Not an off bottle, because that's not an off flavor. This literally tasted like laundry detergent. Total drain pour.

i wasnt real impressed by this, and am now sort of 0 for 2 on being wowed by the newest arrival in the colorado market. this is a fine beer, but i think its a misnomer to call it framboise, it has almost no lactic sour lambic element at all, and really doesnt balance the sweetness of the fruit out very well in the finish with any pucker. that said, the fruit profile is nice, sweet and a little tangy, but the beer is a bit malty for what it is, so it doesnt come through quite as pungent as it might. i like the deep red color, and the fact that its more beer than fruit still, but there is a missing element of some kind that really jumps out, and its the lack of wild ale elements. i love the carbonation and the richer feel, but there is more sweetness on the back end than it needs. i expected a little more from this one, especially at this price. its nice to have these guys in the market, and im not writing them off too soon. ill try the others that came around, but this one didnt meet my expectations.
