Near black color where no light passes through the edge. Small, beige head which leaves moderate spots on the glass.
Sweet cocoa aroma with some milk chocolate, too.
The body is thin but the carbonation is low, so it seems to work on this level. The sweetness is less evident (but still present). More of a mocha taste, which doesn't last long in the aftertaste.
This is a pleasant, but unremarkable, sweet stout.

On tap at the taproom in Soho. Served in a pint glass. Pours a dark black body, one finger nitro-like offwhite head, good retention, medium collar, no lacing. Smell is rich milk chocolate, touch of mahogany nuttiness, lactose, touch of vanilla bean though not a whole lot. It's reasonably roasty as well. Flavour is nice; with a rich milk chocolate and nuttiness to it; the vanilla isn't much on the flavour and seems to contribute more to the mouthfeel than anything else. Lactose, a bit of espresso bitterness, earth as well. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, creamy, smooth and delicious. Overall, not a ton of vanilla like an American adjunct stout would have, but it's a really well constructed oatmeal stout that I would love to have as a local daily drinker.
