Hazy dark gold color. Moderate head with some initial streaks for lace at the beginning of the tasting.
The smell is fruity and flowery.
The taste starts off mellow with a lightly toasted base barley malt. The hop is strong but not overly bitter--a pretty good balance overall. Neutral body with a higher than average carbonation level. The finish is bitter but doesn't create a long aftertaste.

On tap at the taproom in Soho. Served in a brandy snifter glass. Pours a darker, slightly hazy copper-orange body, one finger white head, fair retention and no lacing. Smells rich and caramel-forward, yet very fruity with a strong amount of grapefruit and pine. This smelled more like a triple IPA than anything else, interestingly. Probably somewhere in between a double and triple based on the nose. The flavour is a bit sweeter and bitter than juicy; a balanced caramel malt with the resinous grapefruit and citrus, finishing with a pine bitterness. A reasonably well-constructed double IPA, certainly not lacking on the hop and malt bills. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly syrupy but not cloying; moderate grapefruit zest bitterness on the finish. A nice double IPA from China; it's like a more heavy bodied Pliny the Elder.
