Near black color where little light passes through. Modest head but it leaves abundant streaks and spots.
Lots of licorice to the nose.
The flavor starts with a toasted malt but the licorice is strong here, too. Thinner body with an elevated carbonation level. There's a dry, almost ashen, flavor in the finish.

On tap at MoC, collaboration with Boneyard.
Black with a dark brown head, this looks solid. The nose is a robust blend of hops (pine, citrus), bright and fruity with a pleasant roastiness, robust and mildly bitter. On the palate, this opens with a really strong citrus hop flavor with oranges, mandarins and some grapefruit, along with a robust, grainy, roasty bitterness. The hops and the malt bitterness do complement each other really well. Drying and mildly bitter on the finish, there are lingering flavors of citrus and char. Rather over-carbonated, but apart from that, this is solid.
