From the brewer: "Gaze into this ominously dark and full-bodied brew and you might feel it watching you back. Pours a shade just shy of black with a thick brown head and a flavor dominated by toasted and roasted malts, with rich notes of dark chocolate, black current and licorice."
The beige head disapates and leaves almost no lace. Dark brown color where little light passes through the edge of the glass.
Cocoa aroma with a tinge of alcohol.
The carbonation is low like a day old soda pop. The body is thin enough to make the overall experience shallow. The flavor is decently full, though, with lots of mocha elements of semisweet chocolate and coffee. I get some faint alcohol as well.
