Poured a a brown body with minimal head and lace. Aroma was floral hopped yet bready as well, and the beer itself is a little malty like caramel or toffee that mixes with a dry hoppiness and something like bananas and herbal tea. A little citric vibe on the finish and finishes easy.

a classically styled and well made dunkel, looking it up here i see they do a coffee version, which after having this i think seems perfect, and i would love to try it, but as a dunkel alone, they have done a good job with this. its a little redder and richer looking than a lot of them are, with a cool nose of banana and spice cake from the yeast, wintery and festive to me, definitely not a springtime aroma, its hearty and interesting though, and a little bit baked and sweet. the flavor is cool, kind of a classic german grain profile, a little heavy at first, but softening with notes of toffee and raisin and cooked banana. light clove and mineral esters from the yeast, but well controlled and still kind of crisp in the finish for the style. drinkable at such a low abv, but really flavorful and not all that light in body either, made refreshing by high carbonation. cool coming together of malts and yeast here, its a robust beer in a lot of ways, but also quite traditional. i have been digging coppertail lately, they seem competent with almost any style, makes me want to get into more of their stuff...
