Incredible place. In an old industrial area in Ybor City, this is a repurposed warehouse. Great artwork, upstairs, downstairs, patio and deck. Very cool. Tours are a lot of fun and the food is delicious.

Probably the best brew space/facility in the Tampa Bay area, spacious, with high ceilings and a mezzanine in what was originally the Hellman's mayonnaise factory in the industrial district adjacent to Ybor City. Coppertail recently added a restaurant partner on site with interesting, creative bar eats that are very good. Can't say enough about this place, the vibe is off the charts.

Funky little place with a wide selection of house made beers and a couple of nice guest taps... I had a flight of their beers and enjoyed all of them. Great sours and a really nice imperial stout... I ordered the Schnitzel BLT and it was very good. Maybe the best tater tots I've ever had.... Great place that I would frequent if I lived close...

Down in Flowida doing dare I say ‘vacationlike things’ with J & D, and they are most hospitable to my beer whimsy-ings. Saw the sun, that was fun, but now we’re down from Tarpon and out in Tampa for drink and food. It took a bit of doing, and by that I mean, arguing about how to get out here, but we calibrated and recalibrated. Hey, what ever happened to that guy from Flying Fish, I wonder…

Giant standalone space, entered into the tasting room. ‘L’ shaped, pieced plank sturdy wood bar, horizontal and vertical wood pieced base, & and a railroad tie foot rail (haven’t seen that one before); seating for 24 on hightop metal stools. Drop single bulb lighting tracing the bar. Barback holds a 20 tap barbell on stainless steel, with growlers countered to the left, and glassware to the right and shelved below. A 3 panel board horizontal sits above the barback listing merch and beer (name, style, ABV, pricing for 4oz, 12oz, 16oz, and growls 32oz, 64oz, & I’d swear they had pricing for 128oz growls when I was down a year or three ago), each and all where applicable.

The Core 4 are listed above (Unholy, American Tripel, 9.2%, great Belgian esters; Free Dive, IPA, 5.9%, nice bite, hoppy hoppy; Night Swim, Porter, 6%; roasty & chocolatey; Wheat Stroke, American Wheat Ale, 5%), and at least a dozen rotating beers below (Weequasher, Sour Session IPA, 4.8%, good easy drinking sour; Pinky Swear, pink lemonade Floridaweisse, 3.5%, like the tartest pink lemonade ever; Big Rons Pils, Pilsner, 5.5%, clean, hoppy pils; Hopoccino, IPA w/Buddy Brew coffee, 5.9%; Baby Genius, Gose, 3.5%, good gose, yo; Seasonal Relief, Baltic Porter, 8.5%; Dangerous Frank, Berliner Weisse, 3.5%, beauty berliner; Cherry Chocolate Porter, just that, 6.2%, ‘Amazing’, say Dena; Capt’n Jack’s, Stone Crab Stout, 8.3%, briny, + a very nice double IPA and a Guava something berliner of awesome). The Weequasher, Pinky Swear, Big Rons Pils, Baby Genius, Dangerous Frank, Capt’n Jack’s, Stone Crab Stout were the best of ‘em, but there’s not a bad beer here.

J&D opted for the sun, as in, to sit outside in it, while I went on walkabout. Large windows behind the bar with brew room views. Brick & cinderblock space with lots of reclaimed wood, and concrete floors. A dozen and a half tables, high & low mismatched. Corner confessional and the pipe organ drawing. Copper colored pressed tin ceiling piece mounted on the far wall with an octopus drawing exudes a certain badassedness about it. Other pieces of art, retro, nautical, and more, and lots of red iron.

Upstairs event space and lookout over the brewhouse and survey all that is yours, or Casey’s anyway. Small ‘L’ marble bar with seating for a handful, and a bunch of tables riddled about. Light art, very nicely done. Took a quick tour and saw the space, and what they’re looking to grow into. Old coaster displays and defunct brewery crates in the walkway.

Returned about a year later on a Sunday post Yankees victory and the place is jamming. Set up at the bar with some local beer traveler people. They have seen a lot of Florida; we may be trading stories. I may have more to tell, true. What’s new on tap? Well, a lot, actually and I sampled a good bunch of ‘em. Standouts (Silver Bar, hoppy Pils, 5.5%, solid Pils; Slam Piece, a cucumber Floridaweisse, 3.5%, the absolute jam and best of goddamn show; Sometimes You Don’t, porter with cocoa nibs, vanilla, & coconut, 6.2%, a mounds bar in a glass, lovely; Passionfruit HRIS, a Belgo style rice beer with passionfruit, 5.2%). Hey, food trucks, nice addition.

And again last year. Casey gave us the runaround, expanded into that side space strong and now a kitchen (tacos and tots, hello!) Beers were solid as usual and they’ve got a good mix of guest taps. Looking forward for another spin when I head down in May.

Went on a Saturday afternoon and place was packed but quick and easy to get a beer. Have a good selection of their own beers and a few guest taps as well. Enjoyed my time there and plenty of seating in a big space so worth the visit if you're a local or a tourist like me.

This is stop #4 of 14 brewpubs for my wife and I on this one week vacation and pub crawl. We stopped here just to try their beers, but we were on a tight schedule so that our visit here had to be short, and that was a problem. We liked the beer and the place so that we didn't want to leave, but we did with the hopes that we'd find time to come back the next day. Unfortunately that didn't work either. Maybe next year.

We chose 4 beers on a sampler flight of the 19 beers that were available. It was a very nice selection that included 2 Berliners, 1 Gose, 4 Saisons, 3 IPAs, 1 DIPA, 1 Pils, 1 Porter, 1 Stout and 1 Brett Saison, in addition to the brewery's 4 core beers. There is something here for everyone. The Mi Bicicleta Gose was the most notable. It is brewed to mimic a Margarita, and they nailed it! There were 6-pack bottles of the core beers for sale to-go in a cooler.

The vibe was nice here while sitting at the bar and looking through the windows into the brewery. A return trip is a must-do next year.

Has a great atmosphere, tons of beer available on tap. They offer sample sizes up to 64oz growler fills. Able to see the whole brewery from inside the tasting room. I would really recommend this place.

Beautiful facility. Definitley can tell a lot of money has been put in. Cool vibe but a little cold feeling, I think it was the high ceilings. Beers are tasty, but no food in the area.

awesome place to check out brewing equipment through huge windows and enjoy some tampa craft! From the beer to the service to selection of 10+ of their own beers and often a guest tap. I love the Freedive ipa and if they put anything in it, i love it even more! hopuccino-freedive with coffee added was awesome and day swin was night swin with coffee and vanilla added!

Coppertail was my second stop during my 8 day vacation at st. Pete beach. Out of 7 breweries visited, my girlfriend and I both loved coppertail between the vibe, selection variety and quality of service. Everyone was super awesome and friendly and the vibe and decor of the place is awesome! Definitely check them out when in Tampa!

Based on a long visit in Tampa and St. Petersburg I would say this might be my overall favorite beer spot in the area. Killer space - spacious, high ceilings, two stories, with a nice industrial vibe that doesn't feel copy cat. Some cool nautical themed art. Selection is pretty broad - encompassing IPAs, sours, fruited variations, tart saisons and, to fill in the gaps, a number of guest taps. There were some gaps; not a lot of robust beers - though they filled that in with a Cigar City Imperial Stout so who's complaining. I'm sure this will fill in as they grow up; they're only a year or so old. Service was friendly but there was something of a "locals" vibe; it's a cool enough spot that it attracts a lot of non-beer folks, it seems, so the bartenders aren't sure if you're a "real" beer person or you're going to orderd the cider or ask for "something like a light beer" (a couple came in while I was at the bar and did just that). A must stop; skip CCB (rarely anything interesting on tap and not a great environment) and come here instead.

the place was very clean, looks like someone has a lot of money for being this new. almost takes away from the vibe. you want to watch a brewery grow from the start, not start from how huge and nice it is. the beers all were similar, berliner's and sour ales seemed to be the main styles. the service was solid. nothing too over-the-top. i've been places where the beertenders knew a lot more than these guys, but it doesn't mean the service was poor at all. the selection, as previously noted was heavy on decent berliners. their continuing line up of the tripel, and ipa are both solid. i really liked the sacrilegious (?) confessional. if it's a religious theme, i would have to dock them a few points...

Very cool atmosphere in here. The artwork on the labels and t-shirts, which is very memorable and top-notch, Is reflected by the tasting room. They had lots of unique brews, including a lemon lime ale called Obey Your Thirst and a peach saison called Fuzzy Farmhouse, both worth the trip to the brewery. I love this outfit!

Very nice place, I love coming here with new blood and watching the reaction when they walk in. Beautiful decor, great beer, and awesome people working the bar. During a pub bike ride we got rained in and they stayed open another couple of hours for our group. Really cool stuff.

this place rocks. one of the nicest and coolest looking tasting rooms ive ever been to. quality of the beer is amazing. its way better than CCB. the service is great. the bartenders are not bothered by you, are very nice and dont mind geeking out about beer. My only wish is that they had more tap lines. if they had 30 tap lines this would be the best place ever. I think they only have 16...

Great vibe to the place. Nautical themes prevail and interesting artwork which goes along with the motifs on their packaging. Nice outdoor porch with views of downtown and ample parking. Could use a bit more natural lighting indoors but I think that will come once they open the upstairs portion.

Beers were pretty uneven. Some great, some needing work but it is new and Im sure they will get that ironed out. Nice diverse selection with a couple sours, saisons, ipas, porters and stouts.

What a massive place that I feel like, not a lot of people know about.
Beers were delicious.
We went to their temporary tasting room that incorporated their office, as well and it was so sick! The artwork was so gnarly. Very wooden and rustic, yet very, very modern.
Service was really good and polite.
Dog friendly!

Awesome new brewery. The new taproom is awesome and huge. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and personable. Tried most of what they had on tap, and they were all good. Got a couple of growlers to go. I'm officially adding it to my Tampa Bay brewery rotation. These guys are gonna fit right in in the Tampa craft beer scene. Good things ahead for Coppertail.

Great little/new tap room, conveniently located across the street from Ikea.

We went there on a Saturday around 1pm and the place was dead except for one dude, however quickly after we got there the Brew Bus showed up 20 deep. The 2 bartenders were great and cleared the crowd in no time.

Nice clean space with some cool art, with a typical new brewery feel, so I have nothing against it. Actually kind of dug it. If you want to see what a brewery tap-room looks like before it goes main-stream, hit this place. No food, but food trucks go there occasionally, but good music, good crowd, good beer, what more are you looking for.

I have a feeling this place is going to go big...hear me now...believe me later.

A block from IKEA across SR60. Easy to miss unless you're coming up 26th St. and can see the big sign on the west side of the building. Smack in the industrial heart of Tampa.
Only open 10 weeks (10/30/14) according to the very friendly and knowledgeable
staff.
They've 9 different berrsof their own on tap and a guest - Green Bench right now - for your sipping pleasure.
Parking is tight and there is currently construction next door for what will be their permanent tasting room. Construction is slated to complete in January 2015.
The space is cool with a chevron patterned brick floor and a decent amount of seating. I like it and will return.
