Bottle#159 of 683.Round 1 of a trifecta of 'rounds' of different takes of the Thrilla in Vanilla.This is bourbon barrel aged for 6 mos.Pours a deep cola color with the reddish brown hue,a thinner but creamy lighter beige head atop.Deep vanilla in the nose with even more vanilla coming from the bourbon barrel,some toasty oak is well detected also.A smooth creamy feel...almost like on cask,very mellow and easy gliding down.Not nearly as sweet as I was expecting,upfront dome sweet vanilla but nice toast and earthiness comes in late along with unsweetened chocolate.A much better barrel aged version of the standard beer...very good.Looking forward to having round's 2 & 3.as it warms the sweetness gets a little 'bigger' but the fudge note are quite appetizing.
