On tap at the Old Toad in Rochester, NY.
Pours a golden brownish orange, with a one inch head, and a lot of sticky lacing.
Smells great, very "wet"- earthy and grassy, with additional aromas of grapefruit and pine. Smells classically like a wet-hopped beer.
This tastes great, and has one of the more interesting malt backbones I've come across in a beer. I'm getting a bit of vanilla and caramel behind a big hop blast of grapefruit, pine, and grass. There's some not-unpleasant dirty and grainy flavors as well. The hop attack is big and burly, but doesn't quite hide the delicate farmhouse yeast behind the beer.
The beer is moderately thick bodied, a bit syrupy, but mostly crisp, with a higher amount of carbonation.
This is one of the best IPAs I've had from Abandon, just delicious, drinkable, and unique, with the interesting malt flavors.

I had this one at The Old Toad Abandon tap takeover in Rochester, NY in late September. Absolutely delicious. Very bitter -- they don't play. I must go to the brewery now. A way-above-average IPA. Highly recommended!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
