Spicy with hop oil, pine resin, and light rye taste. Is bitter and has a long dry ending. Slow drinker, but I have other American IPAs that I prefer in this style. This is a pass for me.

On-tap at the Dirty Truth, Northampton, MA. Been seeing this brewery around Western MA and they seem to successfully ride the fine line between experimental and tasty.
A- Orange bodied pour tap to tulip. White cap fills up the glass just over a finger high. Creamy head with decent retention while lace is fairly sparse and spotty.
S- Mostly hoppy here but not a pungent IPA by any means. Apricot and pine hops with slight citrus atop medium crystal grains and some toastiness. Oranges.
T- Rye comes to life here with a bit of the spiciness and plenty of the distinct semisweet grainy flavor it delivers. Brett is mostly clean but it provides some tropical earthy notes that match up with the orange, tangerine, apricot and pine hops.
MF- Light to medium bodied with a creamy and silky consistency. Carbonation comes down moderately high as it all ends with rye spice and bitterness coating the palate.
Rye and a well rounded dose of hop flavors. Overall I would call this quite balanced and rounded out. The lack of obvious Brett does not bother me as someone who has brewed "clean" Brett brews.

I'm not a big fan of rye IPAs, but this was quite good.
In a pint glass the beer was an amber color with a medium-sized white head. There was a good deal of lace.
Rye aroma, some sweet malt. A little subdued.
Spicy rye bread taste. Hoppy.
The rye base and the hops went well together, and it was pleasantly spicy.
