Bottle.
A: Moderately light mixed berries, with lots of barnyard funk, and lacto sourness with a faint rum notes.
A: Orangeish color, super hazy, with thin rocky head that quickly forms a ring around the glass.
T: Crisp, with moderately light berry flavors that blend with the moderate sourness and rum barrel presence.
M: Medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation and a light, but pleasing acidity.
O: Solid; the beer has a great balance between berries, funk, sourness and rum barrel. While the berries could be a bit more prominent in the flavor, overall this beer drinks easily and is very refreshing!

Hidden Cove usually produces great niche beers like Jali Apricot Jalapeño sour ale. Therefore I looked forward to this. Waste of money. Carbonation and mouthfeel was like cheap champagne. Taste was meh.
Stick with Trinal and if you can find it, grab a Jali. Pass on this one.

Look: Translucent burnt orange. No head. Mild activity.
Smell: Tart and sour. Strong lacto funk, lemon zest, vanilla, wheat, and warm oak.
Taste: Tart sour, blueberries, just a hint of blackberry, ripe banana, more tart sour, a strange vanilla, hints of brown sugar, and a smooth oak finish.
Feel: Light bodied and a mild sour. Quite tame. No booze.
Overall: A very strange sour. I was expecting more berries but found them almost mealy like old frozen blueberries. The vanilla from what I think is the rum is some what jarring and doesn't seem to fit. The sourness is spot on though and the oak is nice. A cool off the path beer but the nice sourness could be used in much better ways

In my teku glass the beer was a hazy red/brown color. A very still beer with no head.
Faint barnyard aroma, a little sweet fruit.
The berries come through more in the taste, but not by much. Some tannins.
Sweet, minimally tart.

Appearance:
Light copper / golden straw. No coloring from the fruits that are mentioned on the label. Pours with a thin head that quickly dissipates.
Nice lacing though. Slight cloudiness but overall a pretty clear beer.
Smell
overwhelming brett and lacto aromas. i.e. the barnyard funk smells. Smells slightly sweet. Again, not really getting any of the blueberry/blackberry/raspberry aroma though.
taste
there is the fruit. the berries do come through a bit more, but are not very pronounced. it’s more of a balance of berries/oak/funk. definitely nice. It’s been a while since I’ve got down on any rum, but the rum barrel is slightly noticeable first, but it finishes with a sweet berry aftertaste with slight tannins.
mouthfeel
crisp, medium carbonation. acidity from the sour bugs gives a nice bite at the end.
overall
pretty enjoyable sour. i like the balance on this one. Looking forward to more of the Hidden Cove sour offering after trying this.

I am no expert on sours. i liked many aspects of this sour but knocked it down a bit for lack of fruit flavor. I set the beer and poured at 50 degrees. The look is a nice reddish brown color when poured from a 16.9oz bottle into a 20 oz tulip glass. Little head the disappears shortly after the pour. Some light/sparse lacing on the glass. The smell was nice, mostly berry. The taste was sour on the front with little berry taste, followed by bread, followed by salty cracker. Feel is nice, but the sour hits and sticks in the roof of my mouth a bit too much for my liking. A nice good to very good beer.
