Sampling a cellar temp corked and caged bottle poured into a snifter. The beer is a gift from my friend Erik who bought it at the brewery.
The beer pours a deep dark cola brown color with no light passing through the glass. A creamy tan head of 1.5 cm foams up on the pour and fades slowly to a sturdy surface layer. There is some clingy lattice on the sides of my glass that sticks around through the sampling. The aroma is a mix of malt profile notes, with some coffee and roasted notes mixing with molasses and little bit of anice. I also get a bit of the wet blanket scent from the brettanomyces, this seems to be a little more dominant as the beer warms.
The first sip reveals a lighter body than I expected with soft and gentle carbonation that rolls softly across my palate. A little bigger body would be a positive but otherwise the physical traits are okay on this brew.
The flavor is malty with roasted malts and some dark chocolate and just a little bit of molasses. I do get the wet farm blanket and funky brett note lingering on the finish after each sip. No hint of the booze anywhere on this beer.
This is a decent Imperial Stout that would be even better with a little more umph, and quite honestly, Im not sure the brett helps the profile. I would like to taste a non-brett version.

In my snifter the beer was pitch black with no head.
Roasted malt aroma, some vanilla.
Underwhelmed by the taste. Espresso, a little smoky vanilla.
Thin mouthfeel.
