Looked like trouble when I got it. Wasn't jet black like how a stout should be. It was a sickly mud brown. Couldn't get past the first taste. Indescribable flavor. Shouldn't have even been offered to the public.

The appearance was a pure black color with a thin eggshell white foamy finger’s worth of head that seems to glide nicely down the glass after dissipation. The aroma starts with thick milk chocolate, full and sweet, creamy and then after a good bit of warming - the spice hits decently, becomes nice and even. The flavor leans to the sweet side and after the warming, the spice glides in with a little bit of earthiness. Nice aftertaste reminiscent of the initial flavor. Sweet to lightly spicy with a little bit of a fnish. On the palate, it takes those spices and almost wants to slay my tongue. Yes, they hit fairly good, just enough to be a palate wrecker for sure. Sessionability leaves a bit to be desired due to the spices. Booziness does come in. Overall, American Stout or Imperial Stout? Not sure, me, maybe again.

On tap at Brewster.
Served in a tulip, a dark brown-black color, with a finger or so of tan head; moderate retention and lacing. In the nose, roasty coffee and unsweetened cocoa. Lots going on in the taste: coffee roast, cream sweetness, cocoa, jalapeno spice with a fairly strong heat that turned more into a burn as I continued sipping. Nicely balanced with an assertive pepper spiciness. My burp tasted like tacos. Medium-full body here, a slow drinker, but not impeded by a hefty ABV. Surprisingly good overall.
