Pumpkin In The Rye

On tap at the brewpub. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a rugged orange to brown color. Bar pour’s kind of slim white head. No lacing. The aroma starts with some sweet and spicy rye malts, then opens up with some sweet fleshy pumpkin. The flavor leans to the spicy and sweet rye portion and then the pumpkin aspect slides in underneath. Sly blended aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable feel to it. Rye seems fairly contained to not create too much harshness. Nice balance - somewhat smooth yet enough bitterness. Overall, I like the concept and would have again.
