On tap at brewery. Poured into a sample glass. The appearance was a dark brown color close to black with a thin white to off white foamy head. Subtle thin lacing. The smell started off with a big sprucy/piney needle-like glossiness roaming all around. Subtle underneath of dark malts- light chocolate, subtle rye. The flavor takes in all of the previously mentioned flavors combining nicely. sprucey with a subtle rye spice, still, a bold roastiness of the dark malts (snd some coffee/chocolate roast). On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a decent sessionable to sipping quality about it. Carbonation rides fairly light Overall, good Imperial Stout with fun aspects going on. Would have again more likely in the Fall.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Black body. Almost no head. Roasty aroma. Whiskey. Not very intense, though. Tastes of nutty sweet malts. A bit of diacetyl. I wasn’t sure if I could smell it, but I definitely taste a little bit. Some whiskey in the finish. Heavy body. Almost flat. Started off decent, but I couldn’t finish it.
