On tap at Blackback Pub in Waterbury, VT.
This one pours a very hazy vivid orange color, with a small head and lots of lacing.
This smells like sour kiwi, stone fruit, lemon, and vanilla.
There’s a lot of kiwi here and it works well. It’s sweet and creamy, and just lightly tart. I don’t really know what gooseberry is supposed to taste like. There’s a bit of creamy vanilla and a light lemony acidity. It’s simple but pretty tasty.
This is lighter bodied, creamy and very drinkable, with a good level of carbonation.
This is the first BBC beer I’ve liked in a while now. This is nice.

This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a golden burnt orange color with a quickly dissipating foamy head. No lacing. The aroma takes on some sweet wheat and enacts a nice sour puckering semi-sweet kiwi fruitiness flowing over the sweet gooseberry. The flavor blends the sour to the sweet and embraces the wheat again, almost grainy, but a nice graininess to it. Smooth semi-sour aftertaste flowing into the finish nicely. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. For a sour style, it’s a bit smoother on my tongue with that wheat helping to smooth things out. Overall, very nicely done American wild ale that I would have again.

Enjoyed from the can one day after release.
This beer is a bright blonde color with slight cloudiness and one finger of bubbly head.
Very light aromas of sour yeast and some mellow sweetness.
Flavor is also light and showcases more yeast than kiwi or gooseberry. Not very sour.
Mouthfeel was fine.
Overall, this series is great but this variant is almost a session wild ale. Very light flavor, very light sourness. Joe, ramp it up buddy! Bring it!
