Poured into a snifter, the appearance was a pure dark black color with a thin little tan head that quickly dissipates to leave just a rim of lace around the glass. The aroma started off with some bitter dark chocolate nibs, fresh dry roasted woodiness (the chicory), some vanilla and then the coconut (the least amount). The flavor leads with a roastiness of the chicory wood with the dark chocolate nibs. Some milk chocolate comes in on the flavor. Quick dry semi-roasty aftertaste to hit the finish dryly and somewhat roasty. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a good sipping quality coming from the dryness of the chicory causing my reaction to really ease up. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate. Overall, nice imperial stout by Burlington, well worthy of having again.

Poured on tap at the brewery.
Pours a dark, dark brown with 2 fingers of khaki head. The head is gone quickly but leaves some nice lacing as it dissipates.
The aroma is charred and roasty, with some earthy bitterness. Not picking up any coconut.
The taste follows the nose. Very earthy, with plenty of dark roasted malts. Again, not picking up any coconut whatsoever.
The feel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Nice smooth finish.
Overall, a solid double stout. It's very earthy and roasty, with some subtle sweetness. Unfortunately, the coconut is nigh undetectable and would have added some much needed flavor.

Served on tap at the brewery on the day of release. The first of this new rotating series with coconut and chicory.
Serves up very dark brown with low level medium khaki head.
Aromas are a lot of roasted malt and some real earthiness from the chicory.
Flavors are really nice, deep and complex roasted elements with the earthiness from the chicory. No coconut to speak of to my palate. This was a disappointment.
Mouthfeel was good, would like it thicker but its fine.
Overall, a really good stout with nice flavor. I think the advertised coconut which was missing, would have made it better.

Deep chestnut pour,creamy khaki head, moderate lacing in the glass.
Aroma is roasty, but not overly so, in fact a very nice balance.
Flavors are nicely balanced and roasty as well, not getting as much organic toasted coconut out of this as expected, but it does show up once it warms.The lasting impression I'm left with the flavors are roasty and balanced, sweet but not cloying. It's not a coconut bomb, but I don't hold that against this flavorful Double Stout.
Light to medium body,slightly creamy,pleasant.
With new brewing equipment, new recipes, and skillful brewers, BBC has proved itself once again with another quality beer.
