Consumed 3/21/18

A: Deep, dark brown, black at its core - some clarity around the edges - pours with a small, light brown head, fades to virtually nothing, retains a tiny collar and leaves a few streaks of lacing

S: Breakfast of champions - a range of chocolate, including chocolate malts, dark chocolate, baker's chocolate, brownies, fudge - roasty malts and some roasty coffee - sweet lactose sugar - definite Cinnamon Toast Crunch aroma, specifically the aroma at the bottom of a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, cinnamon and wet cereal - some vanilla, but I may not have noticed if not in the description - lots going on here thanks to the long list of adjuncts

T: Pretty much like one would imagine from the description of this beer - chocolate malts and some roast, touch of burnt - dark chocolate, semisweet chocolate, milk chocolate - milky sweetness and some vanilla - Cinnamon Toast Crunch is most notable in the aftertaste, with some nice cinnamon and cereal - lots of lingering flavors, in general, with some chewy residual sugars

M: Nearly full body, a big chewy, super smooth, interesting finish with some lingering milky cereal

O: Someone's drunk in the kitchen

This reminds me of a chocolate bar I ate once. More specifically, it was a white chocolate base with Cinnamon Toast Crunch flakes inside. It's not the most coherent pastry stout, with what appears to be the gritty remains of cereal at the bottom of the can, but it's very fun. I definitely have a soft spot for it thanks to being obsessed with Cinnamon Toast Crunch in my childhood.

beautiful pour, dark brown-black with a thick and creamy tan head, dense bubbles with soapy suds atop. excellent retention and lacing. on nose are mellow roasty malt and coffee notes and some bakers chocolate. on palate is much the same, some roast, chocolate, and a hint of vanilla. some creamyness from the lactose but overall tastes sort of watered down. mouthfeel is lighter bodied than expected and somewhat thin. overall a decent brew but it sounds much better than it tastes.

Moderate pour yields a 3/4 inch tan head over a dark brown body with some sticky lacing. Head and lacing are both gone in a few minutes. Nose in order of magnitude: coffee, cinnamon, vanilla. Taste in order of magnitude: coffee, vanilla, cinnamon, cream. A bit thin on the palate and overall, yet another unique offering from BBCo. Cheers!

The appearance was a dark brown color with no head but some light filmy speckled lace. The aroma seemed to start off with the coffee initially. And then the cinnamon portion comes across for a nice balance. Vanilla and lactose compliments underneath, but that "cereal" part, well, seems a bit non-existent. The flavor blended well between the cinnamon, coffee, and some dark malts. Sweet to spicy edged out semi-sticky chocolate malt flowing into the aftertaste and riding into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a good bunched up sticky feel on my tongue, almost cloying, but not there. Cinnamon helps to alleviate and leave a slight spicy edge on my tongue. Overall, some of my words may sound like I’m knocking this beer, but it really turned out well for me. I just didn’t get any "cereal" tones in it.

16 oz. can dates 3/15/17 from trade. Poured into Behind the Veil Teku glass and let warm.

L: Dark black beer with 2F head, good retention, but leaves almost no lacing and only a thin light tan ring.

S: With so much going on in the ingredient list you'd expect more than very mild coffee, barely there vanilla, and reticent roasted malts. There is a hint of dairy and cinnamon, which is good as more would be too much.

T: Some coffee, cocoa, roasted malts. Vanilla and creamy dairy come in mid-way and vanilla and cinnamon linger through finish. None of it very forward, though.

F: Medium bodied, very little carbonation. Construction is decent, but if feels as if there could have been more flavor.

O: It's pretty good, but not great.

This one pours a pretty dark brown, with black tints, and a small head, with no lacing.

Smells like lots of chocolate, coffee, cinnamon, breadiness, and roasted malt.

I guess this was made with Cinnamon Toast Crunch? This must be a burgeoning style. You definitely get the cereal- you get the cinnamon, and the breadiness, but also, almost a waxiness, the sort you'd get from processed cereal. There's a definite creamy vanilla flavor, with a good amount of coffee, and just enough roasted malt to keep it from being too sweet- because it could definitely go in that direction if left unfettered.

This is medium bodied, creamy but slightly oily from the cereal. There's a normal level of carbonation for the style.

This is definitely a weird beer- but it's a beer that mostly well executed. I'm not sure we need Cinnamon Toast Crunch beers, but if we have to have them, I can drink this.

Poured on tap at the brewery.
Pours very dark brown with minimal caramel head.
Very little to no light gets through the edges.
Aromas are nice with good roasted malts and coffee present.
Flavors really showcase the cinnamon and coffee. No alcohol present.
Mouthfeel was too thin for me, would like it thicker.
Overall very nice beer and think some added sweetness would have really made this beer excel.
