This was poured into a pokal.
The appearance was a fairly thick dark purple to ruddy brown color with a head that started off pretty damn thick. Ended up dissipating to a small rim just concaving itself against the sides of the glass.
The aroma was thick with black raspberries initially then some red raspberries enter in with a sweet creamy lactose.
The flavor leads with the sweet and tart black raspberries. Red raspberry quality comes back slightly and pushes the lactose in with a sweet creamy fashion. Sly aftertaste of black raspberries and wheat.
The mouthfeel was medium and full bodied. There's a certain thickness to this not usually associated with the style that I don't mind. Carbonation felt fairly low, but I didn't mind for me. ABV felt appropriate. Finish was dry with a powdery like grip along my tongue and a touch of bitterness.
Overall, odd gose to say the least. At least, nothing traditional but since I know the brewery I'm dealing with, I'm not holding it against them. This would definitely be one to come back to when Spring comes around.
