Pours a hazy purple color with no head or lacing. Lots of raspberry on the nose, reminiscent of fruity pebbles. Flavors of raspberries and cream to start that gives way to strong piney bitterness that lingers on the palate. I don’t get much of the pancakes at all, but I like the addition of raspberries, lactose and vanilla.
I really wanted to love this one, but it’s just not my jam. Perhaps I would have liked it better if the hops were toned down a bit- I feel like there’s a knockout beer in there but the hops provide a bitterness that ends up giving it a medicinal aftertaste in my opinion. I really enjoyed the raspberry cream flavor though- never had anything like it.
