Can to tulip, why? Because this is not a gose! Period!
The appearance had a dark purple color topped by a finger's worth of pink to white semi-foamy to soft bubbles for a head. This head fell off fairly quick and a spider webb-ed ring of lace slid on through.
The aroma had some sweet to tart sharp blueberry flesh rolling through a sweet side of vinegar and some white wine.
The flavor seemed to be pretty much the same as the aroma pushing and pulling sweet against tart hints while developing some acidic and super light vinous features. Sticky aftertaste of blueberry, sweet white wine and some white grapes.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied but seemed to sit just a touch under with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt somewhat low and left a ton of cloying qualities. Finish was sticky blueberries and sweet vinegar, some acidity.
Overall, pretty nice as a fruit beer but whoever was the asshat that thinks this is a gose should probably be laughed right on out of the beer world. Nice try, dumbass!

A: Pours a deep blue/purple color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap that leaves decent lacing

S: Lots of blueberry up front along with some earthy tones and salinity. Quite blueberry forward overall

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the blueberry and then picks up some salinity and herbal earthy undertones. Finishes with lingering blueberry

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: A solid fruited gose that definitely hits hard with the blueberry. Double blueberry without a doubt. Certainly unconventional with the 8% (even labeled as a ‘double’ with both the gose and blueberry), but it works. Burlington likes to be out of the box, and this is no exception

I added this beer as a Fruit and Field Beer yesterday and lo and behold it is now a Leipzig Gose!
16 oz. can.
Rating for Fruit and Field Beer:
4.25/4.0/4.0/4.0/4.0
Moderate pour yields a light pink head over a purple body with some lacing. Nose of blueberries. Taste mirrors nose with a salty finish. Nice feel and overall, if I added this beer as a Leipzig Gose the rating would be lower; much lower, as it is now.
Rating for Leipzig Gose:
1.0/2.5/2.5/4.0/2.5
Cheers!
