Time of the Chimpanzee is a New England style IPA, brewed exclusively with New Zealand grown hops. A blend of six New Zealand grown hop varieties; Wakatu, Waimea, Moutere, Kohatu, Wai-iti, and Rakau creates flavors and aromas of Ripe Nectarines, Honey drizzled Grapefruit, Lemon Zest, Gooseberry, Passionfruit and Mandarin Orange Juice. Brewed with Barley, Flaked Oats, Wheat Malt, Raw Wheat, and Oat Malt to create a medium body IPA. The name references lyrics by Beck from his album Mellow Gold

From its straw-colored haze to its sudsy white head to its melon, tangerine nose and flavor, this beer screams NEIPA. And just to blow your mind, Burlington Brewery gets there using all New Zealand hops! Six of them to be exact. The flavor isn't bold, it's gentle and the brew leaves a lovely thin coating of lace on your glass. Ample use of oats and wheat (plus barley) gives this IPA lightness and brightness. Excellent beer with an ingredient twist.

On tap at the source. $4 / 8oz pour plus tax and tip.
Presents in a tiny glass with no allowance for headspace. Hazy yellow. Fairly juicy in the nose with gooseberry, melons. Light bodied with a thinnish mouthfeel. Pineapple, melon on the palate. Finishes juicy and fairly dry.

This one fell short for me. Too tame, not of the juicy and hop variety. This one seems more like a IPA than NEIPA for me.

Very enjoyable IPA from Burlington beer company. They have a lot of beers in the 8%+ range (DIPA), but this IPA is very remarkable as it shows that good beers don“t need overwhelmingly high Alcohol percentages. Give it a try!

Pours very cloudy orsnge-gold color with a sudsy 3 finger head (in a BBBC tulip glass oddly enough). Retention is good with spotty lacing left behind. Aroma is a dusty tangerine, moderately sweet. Taste has orange pith notes up front, lightly sweet and medium bitter. It is a steady taste into the finish. Nice soft mouth feel, moderately effervescent. This has a nice flavor, if not under-sweet a tad. It makes the flavor feel thin, but overall it is very enjoyable
