look has a pulpy fresh squeezed nectar opaque golden almost like a banana smoothie head of white with very fine bead
Smell has a fruity and faintly tropical aroma with subtle citrus flesh aroma with light mango accent
The feel is astringent and bitter yet mildly sweet with light creamy feel with moderately high carbonation and sim dry finish with lingering bitter essence
The taste is great, lime-like and has a slight grass-like hop flavor and tropical tangelo accent with hint of peppery hop in the back yet malt supports the bitterness sufficently with dry quality yet accents the hops well with a gentle sweetness and there is a hint of spice and earthy element the astingent zest flavor still dominates with bitter citrus in the finish
Overall this is a great IPA in the new england style with low malt flavor that makes for a drinkable citrus tasting IPA that with emphasis on hop flavor that I like and while astringent does not go overboard

This one was a surprisingly good find at a local store in Southwestern CT. Color is pale straw. It's totally cloudy but somewhat more effervescent than it looks. There is little smell. Taste is muted with no maltiness. Lemon and metallic bitterness on the roof of the mouth and back of the tongue. Nothing upfront on the pallet. Reminds me somewhat of a TreeHouse Eureka but with the mouthfeel and hops of a Green. But it's a totally different hop. Burlington calls this a New Zealand IPA so I'm assuming it's Nelson Sauvignon but I really don't taste that. To me this tastes like all Galaxy. It's got that dry, metallic bitter and very peppery finish that I associate with heavily galaxy hopped beers. I don't taste Nelson at all.

The taste is quite far from a West Coast IPA. This is solidly in the New England IPA zone. But it's done really well. There's nothing off balance or strange as often happens with these Treehouse clones. I've had 3 of the 4 pack so far and thoroughly enjoyed each one. A few nights ago I brought the 4th to a friends house. He drank it after a Maine Lunch and decided that it simply did not work in that context. I can agree in concept, considering that something like a more traditional IPA with a maltier body would render this beer somewhat bland in overall flavor as a followup.

From an undated can sample on Feb 14, 2021.

It has the hazy NEIPA look all the way with its pulpy,, opaque yellow appearance.

As I said, it is an undated can so the aromas I retrieve are citrus, fruit, and an herbal ashy quality. The latter could be due to the age as the hops are not as potent.

Light body.

The taste is at first sweet and bready and then the fruity, citrus notes take over.

16 fl. oz. can, coded "010521" and sampled on 020121
$5.49 @ Roger Wilco, Pennsauken, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: This is another super hazy beer. It's murky golden-tan body is capped by a full head of rocky off-white foam. In the nose I'm finding resins, orange, and some other tropical fruitiness. It's not the brightest aroma but it's there. On to the taste... hmmm... orange, papaya, mint, lychee, dragon fruit, white grape, rose petal... that's about all i can come up with. Not unlike the aroma it's not the fullest, but it is interesting. I like the mint note. It's a change from the usual pine, and it combines nicely with the floral note that's there, which I'm now thinking might be more like Asiatic lily than rose. The head has dropped but it still maintains a thin, creamy surface covering, and it's left impressive lacing whereto liquid level has dropped. In the mouth it's light-medium in body and silky smooth with a moderate, fine-bubbled carbonation. It's not that bitter, yet it finishes dry with some spiciness, grassiness, and mint lingering. How strong is this? 6.5%, well then that spiciness is definitely not coming from the alcohol. Overall I'm very happy with it. It's different than your usual fare, and refreshing. I know it's 6.5% but I'd imagine that you could drink a few of this without much effort if so inclined.

Poured into a 13 Teku glass canned on 1/5/2021. Pours a very attractive hazy yellow with a finger sticky white head that leaves loads of thin lines of lace with excellent retention. 4.5

Aroma papaya, pineapple, passionfruit, ripe melon, and apricot. 4.5

Taste follows papaya, pineapple, passionfruit, cantaloupe, and apricot. 4.5

Mouthfeel is above medium, not sticky or dry, soft almost creamy carbonation, and at 6.5% it may drink slightly bigger, but is really easy drinking. 4.5

Overall these guys are really brewing amazing NEIPAs. Everyone I have had lately from them has been incredibly fresh and really tasty. 4.5

Poured from 16 oz. can into a pint glass. It pours a hazy, pastel tangerine color with a fluffy, milk-white head and thick, clinging lacing. It smells of soft tropical fruit, white wine, orange zest, and floral hops. The taste opens with dry, tangy citrus particularly lemon and grapefruit, along with notes of grass and white wine. In the background is a dry, crackery malt. The hops are clean without much bitterness. The mouth feel is lite and crisp with pleasant carbonation, and it drinks very easily at 6.5% ABV. Overall, Time of the Chimpanzee is flavorful but soft, smooth, and refreshing. It would be ideal for drinking during warm weather activities.

Almost gave this a higher rating because of who makes it but then again for a session beer this is outstanding. It's what you'd expect from this amazing brewery.

Can stamped "122119."
This was poured into a becher pint glass (normally, most NEIPA's I pour into tulips); let's call this "for science."
The appearance was a nice opaque yellow cloudy color with a thin sheet of white foamy head. Once dissipated, lots of lace roamed all around in a spotty smackling all around.
The aroma had some clean citrusy hops playing with some grassy smooth hops. Subtle piney-ness strolling in underneath. Even further underneath are some floral hops and clean biscuity malts.
The flavor leaned in on the citrusy hop portions, subtle sweet, shy pith-like bitterness and clean malts. Nice aftertaste of citrusy hop bitterness, some piney-ness and a touch of grassiness.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt good like a true New England styled IPA. Finishes semi-bitter but with a substantial smoothness with a subtle stickiness.
Overall, I'd say this was a nicely done New England styled IPA well worthy of coming back to.

A: Pours a super hazy whitish yellow color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap that leaves good lacing

S: Citrus and tropical fruit up front along with a light bready maltiness to back things up. Some floral hop notes in there as well

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the citrus and tropical hop notes and then picks up some light floral notes and bready malt. Light bitterness. Finishes with lingering tropical notes

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: A very good IPA that implements the NZ hops well. Very easy to drink. Just as flavorful as the DIPA version (Sublimated Dreams) with a little less abv. Definitely worth checking out
