Deep chocolate brown with a two finger head in a snifter.
Roasted malt, chocolate, some chicory in the aroma.
Very smooth mouth feel, creamy.
As the beer warms up, smooth chocolate taste with malt and some chicory.
Excellent stout. Worth revisiting..

NO can date
Pours a tan foamy frothy 1 finger head with med retention, nice soapy lacing, just about jet black color, bit of legs
Nose brings dark chocolate, cocoa, a hint of a smokey roast and chicory, a touch of coffee and caramel, then into milk sugar lactose, and some coconut in the background, the more it warms the more the coconut comes through with a marshmallow aroma as well
Taste brings creamy lactose and melted marshmallows up front, little caramel and nougat, then mild smokey flavors with chicory again, a little roast and coffee, mild cocoa and milk chocolate, little bitter roast in the background as well as coffee grounds and coffee milk, dried lactose on the drier finish, little bit more chicory lingering as well. Coconut is more background flavor that doesn't come until later.
Mouth is med to a bit fuller bod, med foamy carb, a hint of warming alcohol
Overall not bad, wish the coconut came through a bit more, esp on the taste, chicory was kept at a good level, base beer was a bit light overall in body and general malt profile, lactose was a little much as well, but otherwise an pretty good beer

Pours a pitch black hue with a thin brown head into my glass. Sweet, nutty essence with roasted malt and coconut. Sweet nuttiness with a molasses touch at the back. Interesting mouthfeel that's a mash up of all flavors. The chicory adds a little pop to the overall profile and reminds me of an example I had from another brewery that used chicory. Definitely pick it up!

Can poured into a snifter.
Found an engraved date of "011720."
The appearance was a very nice looking dark brown close to black color with a thin sheet of eggshell to tan foamy head weaving a light wavy film of lace all around my glass.
The aroma had a huge dark chocolate bitterness and milk chocolate up front rolling through some layers of coconut and earthy chicory bark. Some milk sugar slid in underneath.
The flavor was absolutely angelic! All of the prior mentioned aromas advocate for a balance that seems unbeknownst to most imperial stouts. The chicory is pushed back here while the coconut along with all of those chocolate layers roll into each other. An exceptional aftertaste of all of this strolling into each other.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Good carbonation. Plenty of chicory bark moves dryly to commit to a refined finish of all of those chocolate notes, some grip but quaint.
Overall, the flavor absolutely has it going on! And for the most part, this beer does too! Absolutely wonderful to have this time of year.

A: Pours a pitch black color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap
S: Coconut, roasted malt, dark chocolate, chicory, and lactose sweetness
T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the roasted malt and chicory and then picks up some coconut and lactose sweetness. Some dark chocolate in there as well. Finishes with lingering coconut and chicory
M: Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth
O: A solid double stout that really highlights the coconut and chicory. The lactose rounds things out nicely and makes it very easy to drink. Worth a drink
