Lasting beige head. Some streaky spots on the glass for lace. Faint light passes through the center of the glass. Dark brown color.
I get some alcohol and faint dark chocolate. Dry.
The dark chocolate is stronger than the alcohol but not by much. Full bodied with a low level of carbonation. The swallow is warming but the aftertaste is short.

Promising jet black pour yielded no head. Can just says 2020.
The nose held some promise, multiple flavors and some richness. Taste fell short of the nose's promise. Maybe this stout didn't age well. Maybe it's a rogue batch, as Burlington can put out some good beer. Carbonation was gone as well.
Taste had no depth, had a slight tart edge which is trendy but doesn't shine in a stout for me. There was a heaviness but no richness. Not a do-over for me, and this should really deliver for $8.50 per can.

A - Dark brown pour with thick caramel colored lacing, lots of legs on the sides of the glass with sticky viscosity.
S - Soft chocolate char with oak, faint whiskey, sweet cherry buried deep below.
T - Roasted chocolate char and cocoa, light whiskey, oak, buried cherry, and nice lingering roasty chocolate char with a small amount of sweetness on the very end.
M - Thick, silky, and dry on the back of the tongue.
O - This is a very subtle Imperial Stout with alot of subtle complexity. I didn't realize this was 12% until I looked at the can, no warming on the way down whatsoever. Very nicely done.

Daughter Caitlin picked up a couple of 16oz cans while on vacation up near Burlington a few weeks ago. Now enjoying a 3-way tasting with Caitlin and Alewife out in The 'Zebo on a cool Fall day...
Pours an oily, jet black, completely opaque. Has minimal head, mostly some fine, beige rim-job bubbles. Lacing, too, is way light. Bourbon jumps out in the nose, with some dark choco, cocoa, espresso and dark fruit. Feel was very smooth, with a chewy, medium-plus body.
Taste had a plethora of different flavors! Raisins, dates, prunes, espresso, vanilla, cocoa, bourbon... A shitload of dark fruit and chocolate action highlighted by a bourbon background. Quite nice!!! Prosit!

Motor oil black and quite viscous, with just a very thin brown head. Slight whiskey and brown sugar in the nose. Taste is great, well balanced and not overly sweet. Mouth is lighter than expected given the viscosity, but I'm happy about that. Overall, an awesome canned imperial stout.

Can stamped 010320.
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a semi-thick dark brown close to black color. A quickly dissipating small sheet of tan foamy head slid off and barely left any lace.
The aroma had some sweet rye, dark chocolate, dark toast, dark fruits, sweet woody barrel, subtle vanilla sweet tones, coffee bean sweetness and a touch of chocolate bread.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet dry and roasty side with mellow sticky sweet tones. Silky dry roasty and toasty dark chocolatey bready aftertaste, semi-sticky.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Plenty of dry toasty and roasty harshness invades but isn't bothersome. Lurking sticky finish of milk chocolate, dark fruits and vanilla, some dryness.
Overall, I'd say nicely done imperial stout with a Burlington Beer Company unique creativity.

A: Pours a near pitch black color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap
S: Roasted malt, strong rye whiskey, candi syrup, oak, coffee, vanilla. Quite barrel-forward
T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the roasted malt, rye whiskey, and oak and then picks up more barrel character with some tannins and vanilla. Dark candi syrup adds some dry, residual sweetness. Very light coffee along with the roast. Caramel. Finishes with lingering roast and barrel character
M: Medium-full bodies with low-moderate carbonation
O: A very good rye-BA beer that makes for a great sipper at 12%. The syrup adds some nice body and dry sweetness. Check it out
