This looks interesting, no can date
Pours a med-large frothy semi thick brown head with med retention, fair lacing, nice legs, pitch black color
Nose brings nice Baltic porter out front, a bit of roast, dark chocolate, cocoa, baking spices, roasted coffee, light vanilla barrel and a little bourbon, a bit of caramel and fluffy nougat, some general fruity aromas but hard to get red wine or grapes, a touch of a red wine later
Taste brings more heavy porter out front, fair roast and coffee, roasted grain, into dark chocolate, cocoa, some fluffy nougat and baking spices, hint of anise like notes, some vanilla both phenol spice and sweet barrel vanilla, a touch of coconut as well from the barrel, a little bourbon whiskey but not a ton, red wine is also very light, a touch of port like notes, a bit of generic fruity flavors, and then the Sangiovese grapes come in very late, basically on the finish, fair sticky finish with lingering chocolate, light bourbon, vanilla, and more of the red wine and grapes, a hint of smooth alcohol
Mouth is full bod, rich creamy thick, close to velvety, med foamy carb, almost no alcohol
Overall really nice base Baltic Porter, barrel characters are way too light, the bourbon is there a bit but the red wine and Sangiovese grapes are not much, however alcohol is hidden very well, and overall it's an interesting tasty beer
