We take Barleywines very seriously around here. This sometimes underappreciated style is the perfect place for a rich, warming malt character to shine. Geodesic Snow Globe is brewed with Dark Candy Syrup which further enhances the flavor of Raisin, Plum, and Caramelized Sugar. The rich malt character ties the beer together to create flavors and aromas of Bread Pudding, Graham Cracker Walnut Toffee, and Tawny Port. While the aging in Malbec Wine Barrels makes this Barleywine the perfect beer to share with friends in the cold winter months.

Just shy of two fingers worth of medium khaki colored froth with some ruby highlights... Limited retention... Color is a deep rich burnt caramel brown... Textbook Barley Wine aroma... Toffee, dark fruits, maple syrup, brown sugar and perhaps just the slightest touch of tobacco... Flavor profile is slightly less sweet (though all the elements are present) and is highlighted by the subtle but effective Malbec barrel aging... Feel is medium to full bodied and best described as sleek... Really smooth all the way around... Outstanding, world class and quite unique... This is a really exceptional beer...

Daughter Caitlin was up in VT recently and was kind enough to snag me a 4-pack of the Globe ($32).... digging in now on a lazy Saturday afternoon.....

Into a sniftah, it pours an opaque, russet brown color. Besides being dark and dense, it is a touch hazy, with light, scattered carbo. The topping is a thin, fine layer of beige bubbles, leaving a nice layer with a smattering of lacing. The aroma has some raisin, black cherry, caramel and toffee, and light vinous notes. Has a nice, smooth feel on the tongue, with very light prickle. Body is medium to medium-plus.

Flavor is rich and semi-sweet. Does have some caramel/toffee action, but it's predominantly dark fruit doing the work. Has raisin flavors, caramelized brown sugar, and lots of plum and blackberry from the Malbec aging. Has lovely sweetness yet is never cloying, and the 10.4% ABV is well hidden. A solid Barleywine from BBCo! Prosit!

Can. Tan head. Caramel brown color.

Definitely has a holiday bw taste to it. Plums, molasses, spices, caramel. The bread pudding in the description is spot on. Big wine flavor. Toffee and fudge. Oak, faint vanilla. Apple skins, pears.

Very unique bw. Was hoping this would be more like Thunder struct from rev, but it falls short. Pretty solid though and fun to try.
