Poured from a 16oz can into a chilled tankard and later revisited in a wide-mouth goblet.
The beer lands in the glass a clear copper-amber with golden and burnt-orange highlights. A finger or two of off-white foam forms, mildly sudsy, leaving scattered patches of film and modest lacing. Carbonation sits just under medium enough lift to keep it lively without pushing it into crispy territory.

Aroma leans malt-forward: toasted bread, caramel, biscuit, and cereal grain. A touch of honey sweetness shows up, along with faint floral and herbal hops. Some pours hinted at light earthy notes and even a whisper of fruity esters apple skin or apple juice suggesting the yeast may have ridden the warm side, but nothing overly distracting.

Flavor stays true to the nose. Moderate toasted and caramel malt drive the profile, with biscuit, toffee, and cereal grain rounding things out. There’s a gentle honeyed sweetness up front that makes this feel slightly heavier than a traditional festbier, but not cloying. Floral and grassy hops kick in on the back end, adding a mild bitterness that cleans things up. A light yeast character lingers beneath it all. Balanced overall, though skewed toward the sweeter malt side.

Mouthfeel is just shy of medium-bodied with moderate carbonation smooth, lightly crisp, and a touch slick at times. Finishes mostly clean with a mild bitter snap and a hint of residual sweetness.

Overall:
A pleasant, malt-forward festbier that offers plenty of toasted and caramel notes with clean herbal hop support. It’s a bit sweeter and heavier than classic examples, and some pours revealed slight fruity esters that soften its lager edge. Still, it’s easy to drink, approachable, and well-constructed—even if it doesn’t quite reach the memorability of the top-tier festbiers. A solid, enjoyable pint that leans comfort-malt over razor-crisp precision.

16 ounce can poured into a .5L dimpled mug.

L: Unruly pour, mostly clear amber, 3 finger off-white head, sticky dense foam is very persistent and leaves clumpy lace.
S: Doughy dark bread and spice.
T: Limited malt flavor immediately gives way to medium bitter, tea-like herbal hop flavor. Rather dry overall. Woody and orange peel hop aftertaste.
F: Medium-weight body, frothy, medium carbonation, a bit of crispness to open.
O: Malt flavor is minimal yet this is still fairly heavy for a Festbier, leans Märzen.

From a 16oz can dated 07182025 into a chilled tankard mug.

Pours an essentially translucent yellowish brown with about one finger of slightly off-white head. Meh retention and lacing.

Pretty aromatic. Bready, caramel, sweet corn and a touch of wet earth.

Taste is in line though more malty than I like for a festbier. Light spicy hops with strong bread and caramel. Somewhat sweet.

Fairly full-bodied with medium carbonation. Bitter of a bitter aftertaste.

This is a nice enough beer but a little heavy for a festbier.

Poured into a wide mouth grip shaped goblet: color is copper, slight chill haze, head is off white to light tan with frothy top presenting 1+ fingers thick, head lingers well with solid top and lacing on the glass sides.

Smell is toasted malt, caramel, light biscuit, herbal and grassy hops, light floral notes as well.

Taste is toasted and caramel malt, some biscuit and toffee notes, light grape nuts, herbal, grassy, floral hops, sweet yeast driven finish.

Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate mouthfeel.

Overall a caramel and lightly sweet festbier, clean hops but sweeter finish.

Pours a crystal clear orange amber, thin cap of head, light lacing. Caramel candy and woodsy on the nose; grass and pine. Taste follows with rich notes of roasted barley, sweet malt, caramel, and a bit of bitter hop and spice. Overall taste was extremely balanced. Feel is soft and somewhat slick.

A: Pours a relatively clear medium copper in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate dark golden yellow + amber + burnt orange + honey colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall sudsy foamy off-white head that reduces to a handful of small patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of slightly mottled very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of biscuit + toasted + caramel + cereal grain malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel + honey sweetness. Light aromas of lager yeast. Slightly heavier than light aromas of floral + herbal hops.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of biscuit + toasted + caramel + cereal grain malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel + honey sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of lager yeast. Finally there are slightly heavier than light flavors of floral + herbal hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which slowly fades away leaving a relatively clean finish.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp with a relatively clean finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a lighter mouthfeel. Enjoyable but not memorable and a touch on the sweet side (not as balanced as other examples of the style).

No can date, enjoyed while listening to Queen "Good Company"
Pours a small fizzy bubbly head with fair retention, fair lacing, very clear tan color

Nose starts with a nice cereal grainy malt, toasted mild biscuity, but then a fruity apple like ester note, actually like apple juice a bit, fermented a bit too warm for the lager yeast possibly,

Taste brings more cereal grain, grainy sweetness with some toasted notes, biscuity, a hint of caramel and toasted bread, more of the fruity notes, apple juice and a little general fruity esters, herbal hops kick in on the back end, med-light bitterness, mild sticky finish

Mouth is med to lighter bod, lower carb too, and a little sticky not a big lager softness

Overall this was a rare miss for BBCO, some fruity esters likely fermented a bit too warm or not finished, a bit low on the carb, not much lager character either, although not terrible. Take of those you call your own and keep good company.

This one pours a light copper amber color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like honey, and breadiness.

This is a little bit bland, but not overall unpleasant. It’s a little generic, with a bit too much sweetness, but there is some toastiness right on the back end here.

This is light bodied, crisp, and mostly clean, with a good drinkability.

I’ve never loved Burlington Beer Company all that much, and this doesn’t exactly change that. It’s not bad, though, just a little forgettable.
