Alewife and I made a first-time visit to Queen City on 21MAY19. Each had a sampler, then I opted for a full pour of this brew... Was $6.00 for a 16oz pour in a slim, pilsner glass.
Poured a clear, deep golden color. Had steady carbo rising within, and a creamy, off-white head sitting up top. The foam lasted well, with nice lacing on the glass. Had a lovely nose of cookie dough and bready malt semi-sweetness. Was medium/medium in the body/feel categories.
Flavor? More semi-sweetness, with loads of bready action, more dough, biscuity malts, and a hint of spicy hops in the finish. Oh, this is solid, solid, solid!! Quite nice. Snagged a growler for later on, as well... Prosit!

Growler from RT 116 Wine and Spirits. This was poured into a pilsener glass. The appearance was a light dark orange/almost brown colored, lightly transparent body with a two finger-ed white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Lacing spider webs but also clings to the glass. The smell started off with some rich sweet caramel/toffee/bready/biscuit-ness. Undertones of sweet crisp nuttiness. Good buttery aroma (not diaceytal). Light grassiness (mainly from the hops, guessing Hallertau?) The flavor combined the previously mentioned aromas nicely leading into a caramel/toffee aftertaste riding into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation rides extremely low. Acceptable stickiness sharply hits my tongue. Overall, damn nice maibock that I would have again.

Great pour, light amber, clear. The head sustains. Sweet aroma, light, sweet smooth clean taste that lingers. Very drinkable.

Queen City Brewery "Maibock"
on tap at the brewery on 7 June 2016
Notes: 7.2% ABV. 30 IBUs. Clear deep amber with golden highlights beneath a creamy white head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is malty and spicy with a hint of grassiness. The flavor displays grainy and caramelish malt along with spicy and mildly grassy hops. The bitterness stands firm, balancing it nicely. Medium to medium-light in body and crisply effervescent. Overall it's a touch spicy, perhaps from the alcohol, but pleasant enough. Enjoyable.

Good starting head but it settles quickly, leaving only rim bubbles. Light haze on the dirty copper appearance.
Deep, sweet caramel aroma.
Think strong Märzen. I get all of the malty elements -- caramel, biscuit and even a bit of honey. There's also some notable alcohol warmth in the mouth and swallow. There's a minor hop presence in the aftertaste. Fuller bodied but with a good carbonation level.
