I tried this beer at the brewery. It poured an opaque dark with thin tan head that did not leave much lace. The scent had subtle roast and cocoa notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with roast and dark chocolate presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a decent beer.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance was a dark brown color ranging close to a black color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within less than about twenty seconds. Lacing was barely there. The smell starts off with a luscious amount of roasted coffee beans flowing into sweet milk and dark chocolate. Dark fruits and a light toffee back up the aroma nicely. The taste was a nice balance between the sweet dark fruits and chocolate leading into the coffee beans, bitter yet maintaining a nice roastiness. Toffee fades into the background. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Oatmeal ends up playing more of a part in the feel as I like how smooth it rolls over my tongue. Overall, for an oatmeal stout bringing in nice touches of an English style, it works for me. I’d have this again.

Had at Queen City during a brewery trip. This one pours pretty much benchmark for the style, but the head is a bit lacking.

Sweet chocolate aroma, roasted grain. Nice sweetness up front on this, chocolate and molasses, bit of coffee but the roast is minimal. Finishes neutral on the palate and only a little bitter, lingering flavor of dark malt.

Nice sweet stout, easy drinking!

Bottle from Acton Wine and Spirits.
Pours a solid dark brown with faint ruby at the edges and decent sized bubbly tan head that dissipates rather quickly. Chocolate and light roast on the nose with sweet vanilla notes and a bit of light fruit. The flavor is creamy rich milk chocolate with bits of vanilla and some light roast and earth. Pretty decent drinker.

appearance is black with a few fingers of dark tan head. poor retention and no lacing.

nose is pleasant - has some good chocolate notes, as well as some roasty malt scents.

Taste follows the nose, loving the blend of the malts used, getting some sweetish mocha like flavors... which is nicely complimented by an appropriately full body which gives it a creamy feel. overall really liking this one!!
