I tried this beer at the brewery. It poured an opaque dark with thin tan head that did not leave much lace. The scent had subtle roast and cocoa notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with roast and dark chocolate presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a decent beer.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance was a dark brown color ranging close to a black color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within less than about twenty seconds. Lacing was barely there. The smell starts off with a luscious amount of roasted coffee beans flowing into sweet milk and dark chocolate. Dark fruits and a light toffee back up the aroma nicely. The taste was a nice balance between the sweet dark fruits and chocolate leading into the coffee beans, bitter yet maintaining a nice roastiness. Toffee fades into the background. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Oatmeal ends up playing more of a part in the feel as I like how smooth it rolls over my tongue. Overall, for an oatmeal stout bringing in nice touches of an English style, it works for me. I’d have this again.

Had at Queen City during a brewery trip. This one pours pretty much benchmark for the style, but the head is a bit lacking.
Sweet chocolate aroma, roasted grain. Nice sweetness up front on this, chocolate and molasses, bit of coffee but the roast is minimal. Finishes neutral on the palate and only a little bitter, lingering flavor of dark malt.
Nice sweet stout, easy drinking!
