De color ámbar, con un pequeño cordón espumoso de buena retención. De cuerpo y carbonatación media. Aroma a malta tostada y frutos rojos. En boca es dulce con matices tostados y de caramelo.

Pours a murky copper color with a medium top off beige head that dissolves slowly.
Aroma is of dried fruits, plums, caramel toasted malts, licorice and spices.
The taste is sweet with notes of dried and dark fruits and spices at the start, with a good amount of malt presence in the back.
The finish has some slight bitterness. The flavour gets a little watery and weak in the finish and the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth but a little thin.
A decent enough and easy drinking dark ale, but nothing extremly exciting about it.

Surprised to see ratings as low as they are for this one... very much not a Belgian yeasted beer fan so the subtlety of the esters with this was quite welcoming.
I was honestly blown away- easily one of the better beers I’ve had in some time... wondering if my palate is just asking for something other than hoppy bois and imperial stouts. Who knows.
Sorry for being unconventional with this review, but here’s the bottom line:
Tasty, malty, balanced, minimal Belgian yeast character, with a smooth finish that lingers just long enough.

Dark copper color with a thin head with short retention.
Mild aroma with notes of a bit of prunes on caramel, faint chocolate, raisins and herbal hops.
Flavor with notes of herbal hops, brown sugar, white and red grapes, nutmeg, a bit of creamy chocolate and mild earth. Dry aftertaste with a mild bitterness.
Medium body with slightly effervescent carbonation.
Easy to drink and balanced Dubbel; average, not very inspiring though.

an esoteric belgian bottle i have not seen before in colorado until last night at angelos on 6th, an interesting selection for this place to have, and somewhat of a surprise. its a belgian brown type, frothy headed and a little murky in the glass, but with great retention and lively carbonation. it smells a little toasted or baked, cooked medium weight malts and restrained belgian yeast, some breadiness to it, light cocoa and new wood, as well as esters of banana and raisin and anise, autumnal and appealing. the flavor is nice, quite mild as belgian styles go, yeasty in a rich bready or even doughy way, but not overly estery or intense, perhaps fermented a bit cooler, maybe just a more mellow strain, subtle fruitiness at the most. faint red or port wine in the finish, a little chocolate malt sort of sweet earthiness, and a fluffy round body that carries this a ways. simple in some ways, but quite well done and i think underrated here on BA. it looks like these guys cover a range of classic belgian styles, i will keep an eye out for more of their stuff. a little underwhelming as a food beer here, but its quality stuff.

From Hipercor, last units. In La Trappe chalice. Playing Memoria.Suprisingly good for its low price (1.15€) At the level of other more expensive belgian abbey beers
